This Production tells the story of the earliest Immigrants that left everything they knew to start over in a completely new world.  From the moment they stepped onto the boat that would slowly take them to new beginnings, their stories are ones of courage and of survival.  America, the land of liberty, did offer new opportunities but the cost to many outweighed the commitment. The outstretched arm of liberty could not always manifest an ending that kept families together and dreams alive. As they passed through the gates of Ellis Island, the land of freedom cast a darkened reflection which mirrored hostility and fear.  This fear took on a new face as medical examiners peered into the eyes of uncertainty and cast judgment that would destroy the most  persevered spirit. Yet they still come.  From distant lands they're coming to America to behold the words that stand for what liberty beckons. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door."
